All international students studying a full-time registered course in Australia require a Student Visa (Subclass 500). Here's the step-by-step process specifically for Indian applicants:
Receive Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once you accept your university offer and pay the initial deposit, the institution issues your CoE. This is the primary document for your visa application.
Create an ImmiAccount
All Australian visa applications are submitted online via the Department of Home Affairs' ImmiAccount portal. Create your account at immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.
Prepare Your Documents
Gather your CoE, passport, financial evidence (AUD 21,041+ for living costs + tuition), English test scores (IELTS/PTE/TOEFL), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and Genuine Student statement.
Submit Application Online
File your Subclass 500 application via ImmiAccount. The visa application fee for Indian passport holders is currently AUD 1,600 (approx. ₹87,000).
